Privacy Policy

The short version: your vault stays on your machine until you publish, we store only what the service needs to run, and we run no analytics or tracking.

What stays on your machine

Opening a vault in the app reads your files locally in your browser. Parsing and rendering are fully client-side. Until you press publish, none of your notes are sent to us, and you can use the viewer without an account.

What we store

• Account email. Used to sign you in with a magic link and to reach you about your account.
• Published notes. When you publish, the markdown files you chose are stored so we can serve your site. Published sites are public to anyone with the link.
• Site metadata. Site name, address, note count, size, and publish time.
• Subscription status. If you upgrade, payment is handled by Stripe. We store your plan, subscription status, and your Stripe customer id. Stripe collects your billing address (and tax ID, if you provide one) to calculate any applicable sales tax or VAT. We never see or store card numbers.

What we do not do

• No analytics or tracking scripts, on this site, in the app, or on published sites, currently. If that ever changes, this page will say so first.
• No selling or sharing of your data with third parties beyond the infrastructure that runs the service (hosting, storage, authentication, payments, email delivery).
• No telemetry in the Obsidian plugin. It only makes network requests when you run the publish command.

Deleting your data

Deleting a published site removes its content from our storage. To delete your account and everything tied to it, email us and we will confirm when it is done.
